Paul Martin (left) a little rusty after just one practice game in 5 years faces Bryan Horrocks with Later Russians.
Andy Cross (right) was a late entrant after somebody had to drop out at the last minute. It was Andy’s first competition.

Mike Hayward (my original partner for the bath SYW Doubles - when he could remember to changes his watch to BST!), uses his magnificently painted Later Russians.
More Russians advance on a churchyard. Not sure whose figures these are, but the church is mine; a nice model from an unknown manufacturer. Anyone know who makes it?

Ian Hards (left) and Richard Hardy slug it out on Sunday.
Paul Douglas is a great supporter of the Seven Years War  competitions. At Attack! he used his Prussians. Surprisingly one of two  Prussain armies to be entered.

Simon Hinder kindly played substitute for Iain  Dickie on Saturday afternoon. Iain had to attend an event to commemorate the ECW Battle of Roundway Down, in his capacity as Secretary of the Battlefields Trust.
Bryan Horrock’s Allied and Richard Hardy’s Austrians converge on a terrain objective. Bryan had some incredible artillery fire to support his infantry...but least said !
Overall_winner.jpg
The_winning_trio.jpg
Seven Years War meets Star Wars!! Actor  Richard Le Parmentier, who played Admiral Motti in the orginal Star Wars (the one Darth Vader throttled nthe Death Star) presented the prizes to the winners. Here he warmly greets overall winner Richard Hardy from Blackpool.
Nick Eavis (left) scored a creditable 46 points as did Ian Hards (centre) but had lost a game to Ian on Sunday morning. Ian therefore came second and Richard Hardy (right) was the overall winner with 58 points.
We all had a great weekend and will be running the competition  in 2003. However, there is still Warfare held at the Rivermead Centre, Reading, in November to play in. Watch the main  page for more information or read Miniature Wargames.
